What took place in Cleveland, Ohio on December 15, 2014 will forever go down in history as the greatest pick-up game ever played.
It was a blistery day in Cleveland and the Cavs were heading into the locker room after their morning shoot-around. LeBron, wanting to get some extra free throws in, decided to stay on the court by himself.
Or so he thought.
Just as he was about to square up at the line, he heard a legendary voice call his name, “Hey, LeBron.”
King James turned around and was surprised to see NBA legend and owner of the Charlotte Hornets, Michael Jordan dressed in full practice gear and holding a ball at mid-court. It was as if he appeared out of thin air.
“You down for a little game?” MJ asked as he coyly bounced the ball to LeBron.
“Always,” LeBron replied with a smile and passed the rock back to Jordan.
That’s when Oscar Flernsen, a lonely, unseen janitor from Ohio, became the luckiest person in the world. Not wanting to be seen or ruin this moment of basketball bliss, he was only able to sneak one photo of the epic matchup.
When asked to comment about that rare pickup game, Oscar always says, “APRIL FOOLS!”
*Yeah, sorry about that. This totally never happened. But you could imagine how awesome it would be, right? Who do you think would win? Let us know in the comments below…
